چکیده
Rogosa, M., (National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Md.), M. I. Krichevsky, and F. S. Bishop. Truncated glycolytic system in Veillonella. J. Bacteriol. 90:164-171. 1965.-Intact Veillonella cells do not utilize carbohydrates for growth, nor are carbohydrates fermented. In cell extracts, there is no detectable glucokinase or fructokinase. Cell extracts do not degrade glucose or fructose unless supplemented with yeast hexokinase. Under these conditions, triose phosphates are formed in the presence of a hydrazine trap. When glucose-C(14) plus added hexokinase or fructose-1,6-diphosphate-C(14) was incubated with cell extracts, the production of CO(2), acetate, pyruvate, propionate, and lactate was detected. It is concluded that, except for a hexokinase, all the activities required for a glycolytic system are present.

Three-dimensional Magneto-thermo-elastic Analysis of Functionally Graded Truncated Conical Shells
This work deals with the three-dimensional magneto-thermo-elastic problem of a functionally graded truncated conical shell under non-uniform internal pressure and subjected to magnetic and thermal fields. The material properties are assumed to obey the power law form that depends on the thickness coordinate of the shell. The formulation of the problem begins with the derivation of fundamental r...
متن کاملLarge-scale Inversion of Magnetic Data Using Golub-Kahan Bidiagonalization with Truncated Generalized Cross Validation for Regularization Parameter Estimation
In this paper a fast method for large-scale sparse inversion of magnetic data is considered. The L1-norm stabilizer is used to generate models with sharp and distinct interfaces. To deal with the non-linearity introduced by the L1-norm, a model-space iteratively reweighted least squares algorithm is used. The original model matrix is factorized using the Golub-Kahan bidiagonalization that proje...
متن کاملCloning, Expression and Purification of Truncated Chlamydia Trachomatis Outer Membrane Protein 2 (Omp2) and its Application in an ELISA Assay
Background: Although a simple and direct method does not exist for the detection of chlamydial infections, there are situations in which reliable serological tests, with sensi-tivity related to a specific antigen, could be helpful. Objective: The aim of this study was to clone the first 1100 bp of the C. trachomatis outer membrane protein 2 (omp2) gene in order to prepare a recombinant protein ...
متن کاملVeillonella montpellierensis Endocarditis
Veillonella spp. rarely cause infections in humans. We report a case of Veillonella endocarditis documented by isolating a slow-growing, gram-negative microbe in blood cultures. This microbe was identified as the newly recognized species Veillonella montpellierensis (100% homology) by 16S RNA gene sequence analysis.
متن کاملComplete Genome Sequence of Veillonella atypica OK5, the First Transformable Strain in the Species
The Veillonella atypica strain OK5 was isolated from a human saliva sample and was the first strain shown to be genetically transformable in the Veillonella genus. Genetic studies using this strain have helped us gain much insight into the ecology of human oral biofilms. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of V. atypica OK5.
